ErP certification is the energy efficiency certification part of CE certification, which was enforced in 2013. ErP = Energy-related Products, that is, energy-related products. Refers to any product that has been placed on the market and/or has been delivered for use and which has an impact on energy consumption during its use. It includes those components of energy-related products covered by the ErP Directive, which are put on the market and/or delivered as independent components for the end user, and which shall be capable of being independently assessed for their environmental impact. The ErP Directive is the new European CE marking regulation. As a CE marking directive, the requirements of the ErP directive will be implemented together with other requirements such as safety regulations, electromagnetic compatibility, radio and so on.

EU ERP energy efficiency testing process
1. Conformity assessment, according to the requirements of the ErP directive, manufacturers can choose one of the two assessment modes of "internal design control" or "environmental management system" for assessment;
2. Organize and form technical documents (TDF);
Manufacturers must develop technical documentation; technical documentation should include information on design, manufacture, operation, and final disposal of the product; details will be clarified through implementation measures for each product.
3. Issue a Declaration of Conformity (DoC);
Basic information; directives and standards to be followed.
4. Label CE mark;
Harmonized Standard Tests – EMC, LVD, etc.; CE Marked.
